MultiMat Duo (Fall 2022)
$52.46
Description

Versatile 2-person closed-cell mat for sleeping or camp use

The Exped MultiMat is the most versatile expedition mat: it can also be used as a picnic mat, light sleeping pad, tent carpet, or canoe liner. It is light, warm, waterproof, tough, and a great value. It features expedition-tested, closed-cell and waterproof EVA foam combined with durable and fast-drying 40D Ripstop Nylon. Plastic snaps along the sides allow coupling two or more MultiMats (two layered on top of each other is another useful option). Four corner loops to peg down the mat to the ground or to guy it out as a tarp.

Footprint sold separately.

If youre in the market for a portable battery to power your computer away from the grid (or many other uses), you may be puzzled by the array of options. From 100+ pound behemoths that can run your camper for a week to pocket-size phone chargers that will do nothing more than charge a phone or headlamp, the range of...
The 9 Best Gateway Towns to U.S. National Parks
Terlingua, Texas, doesn’t have a lot of people. The tiny settlement (population 100ish) is literally a ghost town, where a handful of homes and businesses mingle with a cemetery and the stone ruins of a late 1800s mining camp. It’s dusty, hot as hell, and about 240 miles to the nearest Whole Foods. And yet, I fell in love with...
Jeep Commemorates Eclipse with Limited Edition Gladiator NightHawk
The sun isnt the only thing going dark today. To mark the full solar eclipse sweeping through the nation, Jeep unveils a new NightHawk package to grace the 2024 Gladiator. While the brand touts the NightHawk upgrade as a black appearance and capability package, its really a color-matched-with black-wheels package. “Today, many of us will witness a celestial marvel, and...
Hike, Party, Repeat: HIGHLANDER Backpacking Festival Brings Music, Workshops, and More to the Trail
The words backpacking and festival dont often appear together in the same phrase. Festivals are loud, crowded places full of energy, entertainment, food, drink, and merch. Backpacking, by comparison, is a tranquil pursuit. Its usually done to escape crowds, and you carry all your supplies on your back. HIGHLANDER Adventure Festival mashes the two together, though. Its a true backpacking...

When the conditions call for a rapid return, Curtis and Austin answer with the help of the all-new 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter. Buried in nearly a foot of snow, they venture into the Cascades backcountry for unforgettable pow surfing and snowboarding turns, then continue the journey to tempt frigid, overhead waves along the empty Oregon coast. Three Time Zones, Four Hands: Zodiac Super Sea Wolf ‘GMT’ Review
The Super Sea Wolf is the defining watch of the Zodiac brand. Launched in 1953, this line of dive watches carries a deep history through diving and military service through the Vietnam War. Zodiac leaned into this strong background and now offers the Super Sea Wolf in dozens of configurations, including many distinctive colors that help the brand stand out...
Why Botswana’s President Just Threatened to Send 20,000 Elephants to Germany
Botswanas President, Mokgweetsi Masisi, proposed a most unusual export to Germany last week: Elephants — 20,000 of them. The heated offer came in response to comments made earlier by Germanys Minister of the Environment, Steffi Lemke, who suggested a ban on the import of hunting trophies into the country. Lemke, a leader in the countrys Green Party, cited the possible new restrictions...
What’s the Best Way to Deal with Gear Mansplaining?
Dear Gear, I’ve been a confident skier, mountain biker, and climber for over three decades. I’m also a woman. For some reason, most of the guys in my life seem to think it’s OK to mansplain how to use my gear to me, and it makes me want to scream. What’s the best way to handle this situation so I...
The Best Minimalist Wallets of 2024
Here’s a hard truth: We don’t see baggy jeans coming back any time soon. And these fitted pants we’re wearing now just don’t have room for the bulky wallets that we grew up with. Slim and sleek, minimalist wallets are a great solution to this issue. A slim wallet forces you to decide what you really need and what you can...
Private Park Offers Old-School Off-Roading in America’s Second-Biggest Canyon
Many hikers and nature lovers get visibly frustrated when they have to share trails with offroad vehicles. Big, loud, and destructive, a growing collection of modern off-road vehicles (including ATVs, UTVs, and motorcycles) have caused rifts in the outdoor recreation community. Small mountain towns continue to fight over whether to allow them, and federal officials sparked outrage last year by...
Don’t Be that Guy. Here’s How Not to Act at the Campsite.
Some of backpackers’ most unforgettable moments happen deep in the wild: enjoying the solitude of the High Sierra in Desolation Wilderness, navigating the intricate Maze District of Canyonlands, or scrambling up Maine’s Saddleback Mountain on the Appalachian Trail But you know what backpacking memories you’ll really remember forever? Those inconsiderate assholes that camped right next to you a few years...
