Patagonia
Black Hole Duffel 100L (Fall 2023)
$175.20
Description

Classic super-durable duffel, now with recycled fabric

Patagonia's largest Black Hole duffel. Highly weather-resistant and stubbornly tough, it protects your gear from travel and rough handling. The main compartment opens via a zippered U-shaped lid, which has a pair of zip-closing mesh pockets on the underside for easily misplaced items like your headlamp, toothbrush and spork. A zippered exterior pocket holds all the stuff you need to access quickly. The padded bottom panel adds structure and helps cushion the load when your duffel gets the baggage-handler treatment. There are padded removable shoulder straps for a backpack carrying option, webbing handles with a snap closure and haul loops at either end that facilitate linking multiple bags. Four daisy chains let you lash additional gear to the outside. Made from burly, 900-denier 100% postconsumer recycled polyester ripstop with a TPU-film laminate and lined with 200-denier 100% recycled polyester with a polyurethane coating. Both fabrics have a DWR (durable water repellent) finish.

Footprint sold separately.

Alpaca Fiber-Insulated Parka Rivals Down: PAKA Apu Review
It was dumping snow, and I was halfway to the resort when I realized Id forgotten my ski shell. I had two options: Turn around and drive home to grab it and miss another hour of powder skiing, or I could use the PAKA Apu Parka that I had stashed in the trunk with my après clothes. It wasnt necessarily...
How Wolves Became Yellowstone’s $82 Million Tourist Attraction
On January 11, 1995, approximately 17,000 elk bedded down in Yellowstone National Park. When they woke up a few hours later, a new scent was in the icy air: wolves. It had been 69 years since the last Canis lupus roamed the world’s first national park. As a result of hunting, government-sponsored eradication programs, and human expansion, wolves were all but...

6 Everyday Habits That Might Be Sabotaging Your Pelvic Floor Health
You and every other human have a group of muscles at the bottom of the pelvis that you use for the most basic everyday functions—to walk, lift things, exercise, pee, poop, have sex, and, for some, bring life into the world. Those are pretty critical functions for a part of the body you rarely concern yourself with…until you encounter pelvic...
I Tried Sleepmaxxing for a Month to See If It Would Improve My Sleep
There’s this old Dunkin Donuts commercial where an alarm buzzes at an ungodly hour of the morning. A man opens his eyes and says, “Time to make the donuts,” before dragging himself out of bed and to work in a haze. Those 30 seconds perfectly encapsulate how I feel most days—wake up groggy, work all day, fall into bed for...
Canada Imposes 25% Retaliatory Tariff on U.S. Fishing Products
Canada has fired back at recent U.S. trade actions by imposing a steep 25% retaliatory tariff on American fishing rods, nets, hooks, lines, and other tackle, effective as of March 13, 2025. This latest development comes as trade tensions continue to escalate following the Trump administrations implementation of a 25% tariff on aluminum imports from Canada, Mexico, and China. These...
Texas DOGE Member Files Bill to Abolish Parks & Wildlife
Earlier this month, Texas lawmakers established their own version of President Trumps Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE). Trump created the agency to shrink the federal government and put Elon Musk in charge of the cost-cutting. That has led to the gutting of many federal agencies — including the ones that manage public lands. Now, one of the Texas lawmakers placed...
Ineos Grenadier Goes Upmarket: 1924 Edition, Arcane Works Detour, and Portal Axles
Luxury and off-road capability don’t usually mix without compromise. More often than not, when a brand decides to elevate a product with premium materials and bespoke craftsmanship, function takes a back seat. But Ineos seems determined to do things differently. Its Grenadier isn’t just another overbuilt SUV designed to look the part — it’s a serious off-road machine, engineered with...
The Single-Quiver Motorcycle Jacket: REV’IT! Tornado 4 H20 Review
While riding in the spring and summer, I learned how innovative and versatile a single jacket could be with the REV’IT! Tornado 4 H20. The brand combined mesh with CE Level 2 armor in the shoulder and elbow — boosting a AA rating for slide protection — so bombing down the highway at 60mph on a 90-degree July afternoon felt...
Hanging Lake Trail Finally Reopens: Book Your Summer Hike Now
Last May, Colorados Hanging Lake Trail closed ahead of a $4.5 million, 100-year restoration project. Almost a year later, reservations are finally open for hikers to book their timed entry slots starting July 1. Hanging Lake is a National Natural Landmark and one of Colorados most popular hiking destinations. However, due to high visitation through the 2010s, damage sustained during...
Sunglasses for Retro Ski Vibes: Vallon Ski Aviators Review
Skiing in sunglasses, helmeted or not, is a little spicy. Sure, sunglasses can handle most visual needs while skiing on a nice, temperate day. But the second it gets windy, snowy, or even super bright, sunglasses tend to lose some luster. The cool factor falls fast if you cant see where youre going. But while ski goggles are king, theres...
