Canada has fired back at recent U.S. trade actions by imposing a steep 25% retaliatory tariff on American fishing rods, nets, hooks, lines, and other tackle, effective as of March 13, 2025. This latest development comes as trade tensions continue to escalate following the Trump administrations implementation of a 25% tariff on aluminum imports from Canada, Mexico, and China. These...

The Most Versatile ADV Motorcycle Helmet: KLIM Krios Pro Review
The ideal motorcycle helmet for ADV touring needs to be lightweight and vent well. Youll probably also like a shade over a broad visor for better visibility on a trail. I tested the KLIM Krios Pro last spring and summer to figure out how well it balances those needs. Its a super-versatile helmet that’s bomber for almost everything you’ll throw...
Get More Capability, More Comfort-Ability: 2025 Ram HD First Drive Review
Making the steep, 12-mile long, 3,000-foot change in elevation up the notorious Davis Dam Grade to the top of Union Pass on Arizona State Route 68 can be a real challenge for anyone towing a trailer because it taxes the ability of any tow vehicle. That’s why this stretch of highway is a well-known testing ground for all the pickup...
Super Shoe Newcomer Confronts Heavyweights With Performance and Style: Tracksmith Eliot Racer Review
Nike changed the landscape of performance running shoes when it debuted the Vapor Fly 4% in 2017. Almost a decade later, every major shoe company has a racing model designed to compete with what Nike led with: carbon-plated, nitrogen-injected foams to dramatically improve runners’ performances. But Nike is incredibly commercial, sometimes inventing, but almost always chasing whatever is trending. The...
The Single-Quiver Motorcycle Jacket: REV’IT! Tornado 4 H20 Review
While riding in the spring and summer, I learned how innovative and versatile a single jacket could be with the REV’IT! Tornado 4 H20. The brand combined mesh with CE Level 2 armor in the shoulder and elbow — boosting a AA rating for slide protection — so bombing down the highway at 60mph on a 90-degree July afternoon felt...
Why Do We Leave Notes on Top of Mountains? It’s Personal.
Four years before I was born, in the summer of 1984, my parents hiked to the fire lookout on Yellowstone’s 10,210-foot Mount Washburn and wrote their names in the lime-green federal supply service logbook stored inside. They were newly engaged. She was a 22-year-old nursing student from rural Minnesota who’d left behind the cornfields for a summer job folding sheets...

Hanging Lake is a National Natural Landmark and one of Colorados most popular hiking destinations. However, due to high visitation through the 2010s, damage sustained during...
Texas DOGE Member Files Bill to Abolish Parks & Wildlife
Earlier this month, Texas lawmakers established their own version of President Trumps Department of Governmental Efficiency (DOGE). Trump created the agency to shrink the federal government and put Elon Musk in charge of the cost-cutting. That has led to the gutting of many federal agencies — including the ones that manage public lands. Now, one of the Texas lawmakers placed...

Alpaca Fiber-Insulated Parka Rivals Down: PAKA Apu Review
It was dumping snow, and I was halfway to the resort when I realized Id forgotten my ski shell. I had two options: Turn around and drive home to grab it and miss another hour of powder skiing, or I could use the PAKA Apu Parka that I had stashed in the trunk with my après clothes. It wasnt necessarily...
