Fire Safe Wood Stove (Spring 2023)
Wolf and Grizzly
Fire Safe Wood Stove (Spring 2023)
$67.46
Description

  Efficient and clean-burning wood/charcoal stove

The Wolf and Grizzly Fire Safe was designed and engineered specifically to maximize efficiencies while minimizing its consumption.

Airflow direction has been carefully engineered to create an efficient and clean burn of charcoal or wood in strong-to-light wind conditions. Wind shielding provided by the frame ensures you light and keep your fires hassle-free.

Its segmented, corrugated design allows you to add charcoal to only the areas that you wish to heat, allowing you to use just enough fuel to cook your meal, rather than wasting monumental amounts of charcoal.

The insert was designed to require less so you can do more. In fact, Fire Safe requires 26% less fuel per unit of surface area than its closest competitor.

After use, the same component that allowed for efficient airflow acts as a scoop for the ashes, creating the first disposal-conscious fire containment base. Wolf and Grizzly specifically designed this with a minimal trace mentality.

Patent-pending hinged collapsible design allows for a large fuel capacity and mighty fire while maintaining a packdown size slimmer than 1” and weighing less than 2.2lbs.

Footprint sold separately.

What Is Beef Tallow Actually Good For?
The tradwives of TikTok have superhuman trend-setting abilities. Theyve revived 1950s-style fashion and have made whipping up complicated recipes and even everyday household goods from scratch—like cough syrup and Coca-Cola—cool again. Now, beef tallow is a staple in their skincare routines and on their plates. Over the last month, TikTok has exploded with videos of people applying beef tallow as...
Lindsay Vonn Returns: Skiing Icon Eyes Olympics After Breakout Race
At the age of 40 — and after 5 years in retirement — Lindsay Vonn returned to the racecourse on Saturday, Dec. 21, at the Stifel St. Moritz World Cup. The ski racing champion placed 14th, crossing the finish line just 1.18 seconds behind Austrian winner Cornelia Hütter (32). Vonn said she raced conservatively but seemed pleased with her performance. “This was...
Wisconsin’s Ice Age Trail Is America’s Friendliest Thru-Hike
The Green Bay Packers were suddenly not the most interesting entertainment option in Mac’s Pub and Grub, a dim dive packed with people wearing Packers gear on a Sunday afternoon in October in the lakeside Wisconsin town of Merrimac. Unfortunately for me, I was. Midway through the first quarter, I had slipped inside Mac’s, found an unoccupied stool, and leaned against...
Gear of the Year: Our Editors’ Top Picks of 2024
Its time to look back on 2024 in gear, one of the GearJunkie edit teams favorite assignments. In the last 12 months, we tested hundreds of products selected from thousands of launches, pitches, and cold-call emails. As with every Gear of the Year roundup, some wonderful products had to be left out to winnow everything down to 10 winners. There...
A Wide, Playful, Economic Splitboard: Korua Shapes Transition Finder Splitboard Review
My first day riding the Korua Shapes Transition Finder splitboard was in a place that we call the Honey Hole. It has reliable coverage and predictable avalanche conditions, making it our go-to spot for early-season tours. The best part about this zone is that it is riddled with small rollers, gullies, and features that invite you to take a playful...
FKT Controversy: Ultrarunner Stunned by Plea Bargain for Cutting Switchback; Trial Set for Spring
In September 2024, Michelino Sunseri cut a signed switchback during an attempt to claim the fastest known time (FKT) for summiting Grand Teton Peak.He maderecord time, running the 13.2-mile out-and-back route in just 2 hours, 50 minutes, and 50 seconds. However, when it was revealed to fastestknowntime.com that hed cut a switchback, his record was revoked. And that was just...
Black Diamond Recon LT Ski Pants Review: A Versatile Shell for All-Mountain and Uphilling Adventures
I opted for the be bold, start cold strategy, wearing only a light waffle zip along with the Black Diamond Recon Stretch LT Pant. It felt balmy for 7 a.m. as we set off on the skin track en route up Ski Hayden, a local off-piste jaunt accessed off Castle Creek Road outside of Aspen. One creek crossing, 3 hours...
Rare, Do-It-All Blade Proves Its Pedigree: TRM Bulldog Review
While many knife brands iterate, innovate, and release new knives weekly or monthly,  I prefer refinement and perfection, honed over years, in a select few models. Believe it or not, there is a sterling example of this type of knife production. Massachsetts-based Three Rivers Manufacturing (TRM) does not release a new knife every week or month.Instead, it works on and...
Do-It-All Gravel Bike Gets an Adventure Makeover: Trek Checkpoint SL7 AXS Gen 3 Review
Back in August, Trek expanded its gravel lineup with the launch of the all-new race-focused Checkmate and the redesigned Checkpoint SL Gen 3. While the media may have given the Checkmate the most launch coverage and attention at the time, it was the new Checkpoint that immediately caught my eye. It’s easy to get caught up in the hype of...
The Gear Our Editors Are Loving This December
Winter is finally here in full force, and our editors have been enjoying every last drop of snow (and sometimes rain) outside. From touring up our local ski hills to early-morning winter runs before work, weve tested countless pieces of gear this December. Below are the 12 pieces weve enjoyed the most–permission granted to steal some ideas for last-minute holiday...
Why Taking a Long Training Break Is Good For You
Thanks to a wonky hamstring and some bad oysters, I’m currently coming back from a training hiatus of nearly a month. It’s an unfamiliar and somewhat unsettling feeling. So I have a lot of sympathy for Romuald Lepers, a French physiologist and dedicated triathlete who, in the name of science, agreed to take 12 weeks completely off training in 2022....
Getting Up Early on a Powder Day Is Overrated
There’s no other way to put it: My skier friends and I are hedonists. We chase the pleasures of a 100-day ski season, cold snow splashing in our faces as we make turns in deep powder. We stay up late dancing, eat fondue and sip a cold beer on a sundeck under an azure sky. We minimize discomfort by shelling out...
