Roomy and light wide-cut 0° F mummy bag

The Western Mountaineering Kodiak MF sleeping bag will fit nearly any bear-sized person with its wide-cut mummy shape. Thirty ounces of premium 850+ down fill this 0° F bag with 7" of loft, and the continuous baffles allow you to shift the down to the underside or top side of the bag, making the Kodiak a versatile champ for any season. The draft tube and the Super Collar are amply filled with down to prevent heat loss around the neck or through the zipper. The Kodiak's MicroLite XP™ shell makes this bag stand firm against light moisture and precipitation. All this with a total weight of only 2 lbs. 12 oz (Reg size). The Kodiak is also available in a 7' length!

Like all of Western Mountaineering's bags, the Kodiak MF down sleeping bag is made by hand in San Jose, California. Their down is sourced from free-range mother geese who are never live-plucked or force-fed.

Momentous ‘DC Fly-In’ Brings Outdoor Priorities to Legislators’ Doorstep
Its been a long time since outdoor advocacy has seen a coalition like this. More than 75 leaders in outdoor recreation will descend on Capitol Hill this week to convince U.S. lawmakers that the industry deserves more money and protection. Foremost among the groups objectives will be shoring up support for the EXPLORE Act, which advocates call the first big...
The Best Snowshoes of 2024-2025
Invented up to 6,000 years ago, snowshoes have come a long way from their leather and wood origins. But humans have always needed to devise a way to travel over snow more efficiently, and luckily we have dozens of great options to choose from today. It can be hard to decipher exactly what you may need, as many snowshoes are...
CA Man Snaps Long-Standing Grand Teton FKT Record: Who Is Michelino Sunseri?
The Grand Teton fastest known time (FKT) record has stood for 12 years. This month, Michelino Sunseri broke that record and claimed the FKT, running the nearly 15-mile route, climbing and descending 7,000 vertical feet, and returning to his car in just 2 hours, 50 minutes, and 50 seconds. It was definitely a doozy, he told GearJunkie following the attempt....
CIVIVI Nugz Review: Good Knife, Great Price
The CIVIVI Nugz is a funky knife with a fitting name. Something about the meaty reverse tanto designed by Matthew Wehrwein calls for the good, one syllable Nugz nomenclature. I dig it. But beyond appearance and naming, is the CIVIVI Nugz any good? I tossed it in my pocket for a month of regular use to find out. The...
Updated Urban Warrior ‘Truck’: 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz First Drive Review
With the launch of the 2022 Santa Cruz, Hyundai entered into uncharted territory. It was not only the automaker’s first pickup but also one targeting a market segment that had long been neglected by the auto industry. Hyundai wasn’t the only brand targeting what manufacturers like to call “white space.” The compact Santa Cruz went up against the equally new...
Don’t Drool on My Bike: The Colnago C68 Gravel Is One Smooth, Expensive Operator
Colnago. Few brands awaken the emotions of road cycling aficionados more than the artisan bike brand that rose out of Cambiago, Italy. The trademark clover logo elicits admiration and respect for the craftsmanship and heritage that spans 70 years, from lugged steel to carbon fiber. And Colnago bikes have claimed victories as far back as the 1957 Giro dItalia and...

Missouri to Allow Drone Use During Hunting Season
All use of drones in hunting seasons has been banned in Missouri until now. The Missouri Department of Conservation released several rule changes ahead of the 2024 season. These changes include the approval of drones used specifically in recovering wounded deer, turkey, elk, and black bear. All other uses of drones to aid in the hunt are still prohibited. Pursuing,...

Mammoth Overland is scheduled to roll out the first Genesis Edition of their new Tall Boy overlanding trailer before the end of the year. We got an early preview, however, spending a couple of days with the prototype camping off-grid high in the mountains near its Woodinville, Wash., factory. Hydrophobic, Fully Recyclable Down Sleeping Bag: NEMO Coda Endless Promise Review
There is something indescribably cozy about being curled up in a warm sleeping bag when its cold out. I was doing that in the back of my truck, watching raindrops run down the window outside, comfortably swaddled in my NEMO Coda Endless Promise Mummy Sleeping Bag. It was 8:00 a.m. Temps were probably approaching the mid-40s now, but that night,...
‘Black Outside’ Trailer: Watch First-Timer Tackle Entire 2,650-Mile PCT Thru-Hike
Hiking the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) for your first-ever backpacking trip is a challenging undertaking. Making a movie about it at the same time adds another dimension of difficulty entirely. Thats exactly what Gary Wilkerson and his friend Mary Jeanes just did. Their film Black Outside debuted on September 3, 2024. Black Outside starts with questions of race. But it...
