The Astral Frame is a robust frame that supports large loads. The mainframe is comprised of four vertical composite stays and dense foam for flexibility and for torsional rigidity. Through patented features and construction methods, the mainframe transfers the weight of the load into the wings which relay the weight and equalizes the contact around and into the belt. The waist belt cants and conforms over the hips to effectively transfer and distribute the weight and eliminate slippage down over the hips.
The patented Futura Yoke easily micro-adjusts to the torso length, allowing the proper amount of stand-off between the back and frame.

Spot, Snap, Search: AI Binoculars Take Pics, ID Birds
The two biggest problems with even the best binoculars is that they only provide a solo experience and the images are fleeting. By contrast, MatataXplore’s compact Solvia ED 832 AI Binoculars, which I spotted last week at CES, allow you to capture and share images. Plus, they have a few AI-based tricks up their sleeve. Now for sure, these aren’t...

The New Standard for Aggressive Telemark: Scarpa TX Comp Boot Review
It was nearly 20 years ago when I slapped skins on my dad’s old 210cm telemark skis for the first time. Those first few tele turns made that much more unnatural by the headlamp-lit darkness and the icy bite of the evening wind. It didn’t help that his old Garmonts were at least three mondo sizes too big for my...

On Nov. 20, 2025, the group filed paperwork with the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to hold a union election. After several months of organizing, 93% of the 88 patrollers signed the petition to form a union. Like...
