Everything I Pack to Camp at Coachella
If you’ve been alive the past two decades, you’ve probably heard of Coachella. The famous California music festival takes place in the desert haven of Palm Springs (first home of the Cahuilla Native Americans) amid the San Jacinto, Santa Rosa, and Little San Bernardino Mountains. The festival comes at the beginning of every April and runs over two weekends. The...
Comfortable, Streamlined, and Intuitive: First Lite Treeline Turkey Vest Review
I’ve tested a ton of turkey hunting vests over the years. None of them fit or function exactly as you hope, and almost all of them require some type of modification. However, First Lite’s new Treeline turkey vest almost nails the mark. Its intuitive, economical storage gives you just enough room for your best calls, but it’s also designed with...
This Small But Mighty Tool Is the Key to Easing Muscle Tension
Today, we’re talking about balls. More specifically, myofascial release balls. Whether tennis, lacrosse, or specialized therapy balls, these unassuming helpers can be used to target hyper-specific areas of your myofascial system to release tense muscles, facilitate internal hydration (which helps your muscles and tissues move and contract), and even relieve persistent pain. The People’s Knife: Vosteed Psyop Micarta Review
I’ve been keen to get my hands on a knife with a little more bulk. Everything seems to be going smaller and lighter, and I found myself looking for a knife that had a “dense” feel in my hand — something that makes me believe it would survive the apocalypse (or at least a life lived outdoors). With that in...
The 7 Best Stargazing Road Trips in North America
Of all the road trips I’ve plotted in my travel writing career, the best had this in common: they were scenic, they were unhurried, and they capped each day beneath the cosmos. The following astro-meets-adventure itineraries tick every box. There’s no better way to celebrate the start of road trip season—as well as International Dark-Sky Week from April 21 to...
