Mention Cody Townsends name in any ski bar, and it wont be long before his infamous FIFTY Project comes up in conversation. The ambitious YouTube series followed Townsend as he tried to ski every one of the 50 Classic Ski Descents of North America. He got to 46/50 before ending his quest somewhat unexpectedly and promised enigmatically that something else was in the works.
GearJunkie interviewed Townsend about why he made his decision last season.
That something else just dropped. The first episode of the FIFTY+ hit Townsends YouTube page this morning, and its game on all over again.
Except in this new series, Townsend wont be pursuing the ski lines from the book. Hell be ticking off a list of modern classics that he has put together himself. And he promises that the number of objectives is much higher than 50.
Watch Townsend ski the Northstar Couloir, Alaska, in this first episode of the new series and get hyped for more backcountry, alpine action.
Runtime: 18 minutes
