Dont charge. Park outside. Reach out to your Jeep dealer for a remedy. Thats what Jeep wants you to do if you own one of the 154,032 plug-in hybrid models affected by its latest recall.

Specifically, this recall affects 118,230 2020-2024 Wrangler 4xe and 35,802 2022-2024 Grand Cherokee 4xe. The NHTSA issued the recall on September 27 under the campaign number24V720000 (recall numbers are 24V-720 and 24E-080).

2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe; (photo/Bryon Dorr) September 2024 Jeep Plug-In Hybrid Recall The issue is that the high-voltage battery in these Jeep PHEV vehicles may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire. This can happen when parked, driving, and/or charging. Two alleged injuries have been reported to date.

If you own one of the Jeep models affected by the recall, park the vehicle outside and away from structures and other vehicles. Do not charge the battery, as a charged battery increases the risk of fire.
