Its the gnarliest Lexus ever. The Lexus Surf LX concept off-roader comes loaded up with gear storage, a custom exo cage, and, most importantly, a slide-out wax table. Its a cool take on the Lexus LX SUV to show off that Lexus has just announced it will continue to be the Official Automotive Partner of the World Surf League.

　　Lexus and the WSL showed off the Surf concept at the 2025 Lexus Pipe Pro on Oahu. Lexus says its inspired by the vibrant world of surf culture, which starts with the outside looks.

　　Ocean-Inspired Exterior Finish

　　(Photo/Lexus) The Surf LX gets a custom matte blue exterior finish that looks like calm ocean water. Black accents and a white roof are meant to keep that ocean theme going, reflecting how rocks, crests, and water all mix.

　　A custom exo-cage is about giving you easy access to the roof for a basket or cargo carrier. A ladder on the hatch moves with the tailgate but makes it easy to climb up on the side of the off-roader. The ladder gets LED lighting, making it easier to scramble up and down if youre up for an early start or stayed out long past sunset in the waves.

　　Ventilated Storage Keeps Gear From Getting Grody

　　(Photo/Lexus) A huge slide-out for gear storage includes a built-in Dometic cooler and a turf change mat. It has a board rack inside, so you dont need to keep it on the roof, and theres a wax table that comes out of the gear storage shelf to make dialing in your board even easier.

　　One clever feature of the storage unit is that the compartments are ventilated. Leave your suit or some towels in there overnight by mistake, and maybe your LX wont be a smelly mess when you open the compartment in the morning.

　　“Surfing is all about being in tune with your environment and enjoying the ride — much like what Lexus has achieved with the Surf LX,” said Griffin Colapinto, pro surfer, Lexus ambassador, and one of the inspirations for the rig. “This vehicle isn’t just an SUV; it’s made for adventure, with the power and versatility any surfer could ever want or need.”

　　(Photo/Lexus) Last but not least, the Surf LX has new 20-inch wheels finished in an ocean-look gray and 33-inch all-terrain tires, 2 inches more wheel diameter than the LX Overtrail off-roader. Lexus said that the leather seats help the Surf LX stand up to salt, sand, and the rest of the elements.

　　Is Lexus going to build it? Dont hold your breath. But if enough people ask their dealers, the blue paint and tan leather could make it to production easily enough.
