This isnt just a solid EDC Swiss Army Knife — its also a limited-edition run of 7,000 units. That makes the Victorinox Farmer x Alox Damast an everyday carry item thats also a bit more special than your average knife.
Its the latest model in the Alox series, which refers to the handle cover made from stamped and polished aluminum.
Two years ago, GearJunkie hailed the Victorinox Alox Bantam as the EDC everyone should own for its lightweight, minimal design. This limited run of the Alox Damast, however, adds several tools and upgrades the blade to Damast steel with one of the brands many patterns.
In this case, the pattern is Hakkapella, a reference to the Finnish light cavalrymen who punched above their weight class during the European wars of the 16th and 17th centuries. (Thanks for the history lesson, Victorinox!)
(Photo/Victorinox) The Damasteel blade is crafted with 115 layers for improved toughness, according to the brand, and adds many extra tools not found in the uber-minimal, dual-implement Alox Bantam.
The Alox Damast boasts 10 functions in total: a large blade, can opener, two screwdrivers (3mm and 7mm flathead drivers), bottle opener, wire stripper, reamer, scissors, wood saw, and key ring. The total package measures 3.7 inches in length and weighs 3.8 ounces.
Each of the 7,000 knives is sequentially numbered and costs $275.
This sweet little EDC knife launched on July 19, and theres no telling how long theyll last. Learn more and buy one for yourself at the Victorinox website.
